The Division 2’s Warlords of New York expansion launch begins today, even though the official release date is March 3. The timing depends on your platform and region, so let’s break it down. The Division 2 servers have gone down this morning for maintenance across all platforms. This downtime is necessary to deploy update 8.1, which includes Warlords of New York content as well as the changes to gear, crafting, meta and more.
The Division 2: Warlords of New York download size
Regardless of whether or not you’re getting Warlords of New York, you’ll need to download title update 8 along with everybody else. You obviously won’t be able to travel to New York if you don’t own the expansion, but you’ll need to download the files all the same. The download size varies widely for each platform. Assuming your game is updated to the most recent patch (TU7), here’s how big the Warlords of New York download is going to be:
PC: 42GB patch. PS4: 14-16GB patch. Xbox One: 60GB patch.
If don’t have The Division 2 installed, you’re looking at an even bigger download for the whole thing.
PC: 60GB download. PS4: 114-118GB download. Xbox One: 70-74GB download.
The Division 2: Warlords of New York PC launch times
Those who pre-ordered Warlords of New York - and downloaded the big patch - will be able to play today, March 2 on PC. Due to some restrictions on consoles, PC players get access to expansion content several hours before their friends on PS4/Xbox One. Launch times are identical for Uplay and Epic Games Store players, so it doesn’t matter where you bought it, so long as it’s on PC. The only exception to this is console players in Australia and New Zealand, who also get access to the game alongside PC at the times below. Here’s when that is:
3am PT, March 2. 6am ET, March 2. 11am UK, March 2.
In other words, you’ll be able to play as soon as maintenance ends.
The Division 2: Warlords of New York PS4/Xbox One launch times
Warlords of New York players on PS4 and Xbox One will, unfortunately, have to wait until midnight local time to be able to jump in. Australia and New Zealand are the only countries exempt from this, given how time zones work. Console players in Australia and New Zealand will be able to play at the PC launch times above. Everyone else, however, needs to wait until midnight local time.
12am PT, March 3. 12am ET, March 3. 12am UK, March 3.
