Italian website Multiplayer.IT has apparently uncovered some recruiter data that suggests Jade Raymond and her team will be working on an online game for the PlayStation 5 as its first endeavor for Sony (think Destiny, Apex Legends, and other similar games). According to Linkedin, Haven has been on a hiring spree and has apparently secured a selection of veterans from around the Montreal development cluster. High-profile names include former Assassin’s Creed series producer Sebastien Pule, Assassins’s Creed lead writer Corey May, Watch Dogs’ art director Mathieu Leduc, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s gameplay director Daniel Drapeau. Raymond, who has previously held roles at Google Stadia, EA, and Ubisoft, formed the new Montreal-based studio working under PlayStation some four months ago. And it looks like it’s already teeming with top-class pedigree. How the staff will refocus their experiences to work with a games-as-a-service title, though, remains to be seen. “We want to pour our passion into a project. We want to make something wondrous for people to experience. Because we believe in the power of games to bring joy to people’s lives. And Sony does, too," wrote Raymond in a blog post when she announced her move to Haven. “Their commitment to excellence is unmatched. It’s why I couldn’t be happier for their backing and support.” “While we don’t have many details to announce today, I want the PlayStation community to know that Haven Studios is already hard at work on an unannounced IP. We can’t wait to show you more!” There’s no word on when we’ll see the fruits of Haven’s labor.
