Ubisoft has published a tweet from the official Ghost Recon account stating: “It’s official and it’s coming”, which saw a reply from the official Rainbow Six Siege account noting simply, “Our comms are open”. The publisher also seemingly published a video revealing exactly what the crossover is on Youtube, giving away the surprise. Youtube users that subscribe to the Ubisoft channel clocked a notification for a new video yesterday that confirmed a Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six Siege crossover. The video, which was seemingly published ahead of schedule, was quickly made private – but not before we managed to get a look at what it contained. It showed some sort of gas taking over the island. Though it offered little in the way of setup, it did confirm that Siege operators Ash, Finka and either Smoke or Thatcher will be joining the Ghosts. The video also revealed January 21 as the event’s starting date. This will be the second time Siege has crossed over with other projects in the modern Tom Clancy-verse; back in 2018, we saw Siege and Wildlands engage in a similar crossover event. Ubisoft made reference to an upcoming “exciting crossover event” in an update back in October 2020, and it looks like we’re about to get more information on exactly what that very shortly. It’s unclear whether Siege is also going to see new content as part of the crossover, but more information is expected to drop later today. You can check out our review of Ghost Recon Breakpoint here.
