Doom Eternal is getting Empowered Demons with its next update. With Empowered Demons, when a player is killed in the single-player campaign, the demon that killed them will become more powerful and transported to another player’s game. If you take out an Empowered Demon you will be rewarded with bonus XP and extra health and ammunition. Battlemode enhancements are also coming such as Denuvo Anticheat features, changes to the tutorial, network connection indicators, Echelon Leveling for players at the maximum level, and a Death Report screen. The team is also adding an upgraded friends list through Bethesda.net. When using Account IDs, you will be able to find friends more easily. Support and fine-tuning or Battlemode will continue and the team is also planning to add new playable demons and maps for free “later on down the line.” Update 1 will also address a few balance concerns and “annoyances” players of the single-player experience have brought to the developer’s attention. Some of the changes to expect are expanded demon tutorials, Dashing vertically in the water, and adjusted toxic damage while out for a swim. Beyond Update 1, the development team is progressing on the game’s Invasion mode and the first DLC expansion of the Year One Pass. More information will come later this year. The update is expected to drop sometime this month. In the meantime, if you are just picking the game up, here are all the collectibles in the first level of Doom Eternal, and all the collectibles in the second level.
