Now make no mistake, I’m driving the cars in automatic with the majority of assists turned on but already it’s miles better than using a controller (I was playing on PS5, and the DualSense is no slouch). You’ll quickly guess that I don’t drive in real life when you watch the video above because I never knew how much effort driving is. While my arms might be shaken up from trying to control the force feedback and have a sore ankle from half-pressing the accelerator for a whole lap behind the safety car, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back using a standard controller for racing games. The combination of F1 2021 and a racing wheel gives me the same feeling of immersion that I had when I first put on a VR headset. I know this has been around for years but with the graphics and responsiveness at the level they are now, It feels brand new to me. Anyway, check out the video of me going online for the first time with the racing wheel. Bonus points if you can tell me how many times I say “LISTEN!” and feel free to laugh about how terrible a driver I am. Enjoy. Do let me know in the comments what you thought of the video and if you have any recommendations on what racing game I should try next.
