Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War developer Treyarch released a small update to the game on Saturday. The patch mainly consists of bug and exploit fixes, but it does have one big change for competitive play. League Play, the recently launched competitive ruleset, received a new friendly fire rule. Friendly fire is on by default in the competitive playlist, but the most recent update ups the penalty for team killing. From the second accidental kill, all damage dealt to teammates will be applied back to the attacker, which is a common solution to teamkilling in shooters. If the attacker continues to damage teammates even after ricochet is activated, they will be removed from the game entirely following two more attempts. Beyond that, the patch added the RC-XD to the list of restricted items. See the full change log on Treyarch’s blog. On the Warzone and Modern Warfare side, Raven dropped a new update that fixes an issue that’s been causing hit markers to sometimes stop showing up.
