For the past few days, the official Call of Duty account on Twitter has been teasing the arrival of two iconic characters from 80s cinema into Warzone. This all started with a Tweet showing the in-game stats for someone named John, with the gamertag SURVIVORJOHN#1009062. If that doesn’t immediately give it away, a closer look at the stats themselves reveals a bigger hint. John has an infinite KD/R. They played five games (five movies), with a total time of seven hours, and won all of them. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Two days later, the same account posted a different teaser, this time for a fictional business called “Nakatomi Duct Cleaning.” There’s even a website with the tagline, ‘Say Yippee Ki Yay to Dust’. This is a much easier to parse hint, of course, because it’s referring to Die Hard, which more than likely means we’re getting John McClane. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. The event not only brought players an updated version of the map, it’s also seemingly going to open the doors for other 80s-themed crossovers. As for what shape this might take, it’s probably going to be a few skins featuring Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis’ likenesses, presumably to be sold in the game’s store for real money. Warzone has done a similar crossover in the past, of course, that being last year’s Haunting of Verdansk event which invited horror icons from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and SAW.
