A spinoff of the popular live service game Rainbow Six Siege, Extraction features an alien threat known as the Archæans that players will have to team up and take down. The game supports up to three-player teams and features familiar weapons and operators from Siege. The Buddy Pass trial system allows friends to try the game out for two weeks. Each copy of the game comes with two Buddy Pass tokens, each of which can be used to invite friends to play with them for a limited amount of time....

One of the more frustrating aspects of Rainbow Six Siege, as in any team-based game, is that you sometimes have to play it alone. Unfortunately, Siege does not queue up solo players with other solos, causing them to instead end up in matches with stacked teams. This is a problem Siege developers are aware of, as it’s not a particularly new issue. However, it looks like players may finally see some changes....

Developed in a joint effort by Sony and Nintendo around 1992, it’s said to be the last remaining prototype of the alleged 200 created by the two companies. The others were either lost or destroyed, but the one remaining is up for grabs through Dallas-based Heritage Auctions. The prototype features a slot for Super Famicom and Super Nintendo games and a CD-ROM drive which was meant to play discs. While the drive was not working when it was found in 2009, it has been repaired and can play music discs....

A fairly regular post on the Red Dead Redemption 2 subreddit is one where a longtime player discovers something they’d never seen before. The game is full of little interactions that most totally miss, even on repeat playthroughs. Things like the NPCs asking for help on the side of the road are among them, but the more interesting are the ambushes and traps you could fall into if you’re not careful, which trigger a unique cutscene involving a local gang or some other bizarre phenomenon in the region....

I’ll start by saying that this is still inherently Resident Evil 4. Obviously, I cannot speak for the rest of the game, but as far as Leon’s first rendezvous with the horde of Los Ganados goes, Capcom has - so far - nailed the remake. When it comes to a Resident Evil Remake, we anticipate improved graphics, evolved combat, and a lot less jank. Fortunately, my taste of REmake 4 combat left me eager for more, and here’s why....

League of Legends and Valorant studio Riot and Destiny maker Bungie are taking cheat creator GatorCheats to court. As spotted by Polygon, lawyers for the two developers filed a case in the Central District of California alleging that the hack creator has done “massive and irreparable harm” to their businesses by creating and selling cheats. The duo reckons that GatorCheats could be liable to pay damages to the tune of “millions of dollars....

While the developer, and its parent company Take-Two, moved quickly to take down as many of them on social media and video platforms as possible, the damage had already been done. Given the nature of the leaks themselves (clearly originating from development builds), it was assumed that the developer’s network had been hacked. This was, in fact, an accurate guess. In a statement posted to Twitter, the studio acknowledged the leak, confirming that it was the result of an unauthorised network breach....

Rockstar wants in on the music industry, and it’s using the Ibiza club culture icon CircoLoco to help breakthrough into the scene. Rockstar and CircoLoco are teaming up to form CircoLoco Records and the company’s first EP is hitting shelves on June 4. From then on, we’ll see another EP launch every week until July 9, when the compilation album Monday Dreamin’ will be released in full. You can pre-order the full album now on iTunes and get a preview of the EP on Spotify....

Rockstar Games’ official site was recently updated with a couple of new images fans think are teasing the studio’s next project. The first can be seen by bringing up the menu bar on the far left. The background shows an android with a retro, space age-inspired design holding a white Rockstar logo, with a glass of champagne resting on the star and a bucket of champagne off to the left....

Sony will be closing down its PlayStation community forum on February 27. The closure of the long-running forum was announced in a post confirming both North American and European sites will be shuttered. The company appears to be funneling its community interactions into its social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the official PlayStation Blog. The PlayStation forums were largely a relic of the PlayStation 2 era and, looking at it now, its community doesn’t appear to be all that active....

A new Spider-Man 2 rumour popped up today on the Gaming Leaks And Rumours subreddit. The long post is - as these leaks tend to be - written by a new, throwaway account. We’ve not been able to verify any of the information it reveals, but as you’re about to see, most of these details seem plausible enough. The original Splatoon was on the unsuccessful Wii U console, and the follow-up released on the Switch. On Switch, Splatoon 2 became a huge hit, and players have been waiting patiently for the third game to arrive. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait until the next-generation console to sling some more ink, as Splatoon 3 is coming to Switch. Nintendo has in fact been quite generous with the information for Splatoon 3, unlike some other titles proposed to release in 2022....

Earlier today (September 12), Nintendo Japan shared that Splatoon 3 has sold more than 3.45 million copies in its first three days of sale, made up of both physical and digital copies. To put things into perspective, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, one of Nintendo’s best selling games, sold 1.88 million copies in the same time frame. Meaning Splatoon 3 has sold almost double that of New Horizons. But as industry analyst Daniel Ahmad points out, it isn’t just the best launch for a Switch game in Japan, it’s the best launch for any game in Japan....

That’s why I’ll always be a stan for games like the criminally underrated, gloriously stupid 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. It’s why I love the voice acting of The House of the Dead, the campy vibe of pre-EA Command & Conquer real-time cutscenes. It’s why I play Earth Defense Force, endless Musou games, and stuff like Deadly Premonition. And it’s why I love Star Ocean. Star Ocean, which turns 26 years old this week, wasn’t exactly envisioned as a B-tier series when it broke onto the scene with its Japan-only Super Nintendo debut....

This week, PSN releases - a Twitter bot that crawls PlayStation Store database updates - posted the art for an unannounced Star Wars game dubbed Project Maverick. The game had gained an entry on the European PS Store, specifically. Since revealing this, the bot’s creator, Luciano Ciccariello, shared the game’s content ID - a unique code that, with the right access, can bring up some of the details used when it was entered into the store database....
