Deep Silver has tried to quell expectations by announcing that we won’t get any updates on Dead Island 2, Saints Row, Metro, or TimeSplitters during the Koch Media E3 2021 showcase. Koch Media, which operates Deep Silver as well as its own games, is hosting an E3 event on Friday, June 11 and apparently, the aforementioned games will be absent. Everyone seemed rather hopeful when the show was announced that we’d finally hear something on the next Saint’s Row....

Update: It is now official! Bungie has confirmed that we are indeed going to learn more about the next chapter of Destiny 2 on Tuesday, June 9 at 9am PT, 12pm ET, 5pm BST. There’s now a dedicated landing page for the stream on Bungie’s website. The show itself will likely be available on Twitch and YouTube. This is the exact time and date revealed in the deleted, and since reposted, teaser that went live on Tuesday, so there’s no surprise there....

This all is set to come to the game early in December ahead of the introduction of the new Loot Cave dungeon and the beloved Gjallahorn rocket launcher being brought in from the original Destiny. Doom Eternal was released originally released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia back in March this year, and a Nintendo Switch release was always promised to come shortly after. Doom Eternal may finally be out on the Switch, but now it looks like iD Software and Bethesda could be targeting yet another platform for the game. A new listing from the Australian classification board (thanks, PCGamesN) has rated a mysterious title called ‘Project 2021A’. As per the listing, this interesting, unannounced title is classified as ‘virtual reality’, and is listed under the authorship of iD Software (with Bethesda on publishing duties)....

But one particular theory posited by EA executives – according to a report from February – was that the surprise launch of Halo Infinite just four days earlier put Battlefield 2042 on the back foot, despite the (supposed) positive critical reception from those who were allowed to play the launch build. There’s certainly some merit to this train of thought. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is free-to-play, a first for the series....

The cave is certainly worth paying a visit to early on in your playthrough so that you can acquire some Smithing Stones to upgrade your armaments with, and there’s also plenty of crafting materials up for grabs too. New data shown this week in Sony’s latest earnings presentation reveals that the number of people subscribing to Sony’s PlayStation Plus has fallen from from 47.3 million to 45.4 million this quarter. The fact that this is the third quarterly decline of PS Plus subs in a row would be bad news in and of itself, but when you consider it also comes on the back on the PS Plus relaunch… well, it’s probably left Sony feeling a bit miffed....

In a move that is likely to have significant repercussions across the PC gaming hardware industry, EVGA isn’t just dropping Nvidia - it also has no plans to move into creating GPUs with either AMD or Intel, Nvidia’s two key rivals. After last night’s announcement that Fall Guys will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this year, the game’s official Twitter account has also made it clear that the popular party title will also be arriving on Xbox, too. “The team at Mediatonic have been hard at work concocting more and more elaborate schemes for future content (costumes, rounds, new features and improvements) that Xbox players can enjoy this summer and beyond,” says a PR statement....

EA has announced some surprising news this morning. FIFA 21, this year’s game due out in October, will not be getting the usual demo. FIFA games always get free demos ahead of release, but EA is snubbing it this year in favour of allowing the main game more development time and resources. “We aren’t releasing a demo for FIFA 21,” wrote EA in an official statement shared on Twitter. “Instead we’ve made the decision to focus our development team’s time on delivering the best full game experience for current and next-gen consoles....
