We’re talking nips and tucks here rather than a full re-work, which is absolutely fine: anything more substantial than that risks compromising the art direction, as we’ve seen countless times before when iconic games get a graphical refresh....

But while the word featured in Puzzle 510 might not be something you have a lot of in your personal collection, it’s still a word that everyone will be familiar with. Despite a couple of decent vowels to work with, there are some tough consonants today that take a lot of figuring out. For example, the first letter has only appeared in that slot once over the last month. The last letter should be easier though, it’s come up in that position four times over the last 30 days....

Collaboration is key if you’re going to figure out Puzzle 506, but that’s easier said than done in a single-player game! The main point of difficulty with today’s puzzle is the vowels. Firstly, there are a lot of them, which makes it very easy to get caught up in trying to eliminate consonants and getting nowhere. Next, words that start with a vowel are always tough, since you’re almost guaranteed to waste a couple of guesses trying to get letters in the right order....

Creative Assembly has revealed gameplay from Total War: Warhammer 3 for the first time, showing off what players can expect from the conclusion to its beloved trilogy. Today’s gameplay reveal not only shows off the updated mechanics, new factions and quality of life improvements, it chiefly focuses on Warhammer 3’s biggest new mechanic: Survival Battles. These take place in enemy territory, and resemble something from a tower defence game. The goal of Survival Battles is to hold captured points against waves of defenders trying to reclaim them....

With a controller in one hand handling the right analogue stick, and a phone in your pocket, it looks as though the app lets you step in the shoes of your favourite characters (granted it’s not something like a racing game, of course)....

Twelve Minutes was one of a few indie games that showed up at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The game has, of course, been part of Microsoft’s show in the past, but this time, we actually got a release date. Twelve Minutes is coming to PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on August 19. The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass across PC, console and cloud at launch....

A lead designer on Hogwarts Legacy, Troy Leavitt, has announced his resignation from Avalanche. The developer said on Twitter that he was leaving the studio and had “nothing but good things” to say about the upcoming Harry Potter game, his colleagues and the title’s publisher, Warner Bros. Leavitt did say that there was going to be a video on his YouTube channel at some point in the near future to explain the situation....

The new agent for Valorant is Yoru, who has the ability to teleport for short distances. You can see Yoru in action in the trailer for Episode 2 below. Yoru’s abilities include a way to mimic footsteps using an echo, teleportation, and he is able to open a dimension in which he can throw a flash grenade which activates after it has hit a hard surface. Along with the new season comes a new Battlepass and a skin pack featuring cosmetics from Episode 1....

The gnome is a homage to the Half-Life 2: Episode 2’s Little Rocket Man achievement, where you had to carry a garden gnome in the game, Gnome Chompski, to deposit it in a rocket ship. Newell is doing this to raise money for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of children’s hospital Starship, located in Auckland, New Zealand. Rocket Lab will be using Electron’s Kick Stage to deliver the 150mm titanium garden gnome into orbit, according to PCgamesN....

It seemed to me like mixing oil and water, and while I do think the game is lacking in some places that’ll hurt for Masquerade fans, I came away following consecutive days glued to this title pleasantly surprised by its merits. Sharkmob has, somehow, made it work. Let’s start with Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodhunt’s elevator pitch. The game is a third-person, free-to-play Battle Royale set on the dark streets of modern day Prague....

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 developer Hardsuit Labs and publisher Paradox announced this morning that the game will not be released this year, and is now set for release sometime in 2021. This is Bloodlines 2’s second delay, after the game got pushed back to this year from its original 2019 release target. In an official message on Twitter, the companies explained why releasing the game this year is no longer possible....

Keiichiro Toyama, best known as the director of Silent Hill and the Gravity Rush series, has left Sony in order to join a newly-founded Japanese studio headed up by other veteran developers. Kazunobu Sato (who was the lead designer of PlayStation 3 title Puppeteer and worked on The Last Guardian) and Junya Okura (lead designer on the Gravity Rush series of games) have also left Sony, joining Toyama in establishing the new studio....
