This is in addition to regular weekly rewards. Those who win three games will earn the Mardi Grashe and Mardi B.O.B. Player Icons. If you win six, you will also earn a Gold Mask Spray, but winning nine will reward you with the new skin....

Dialogue from a number of scenes, specifically ones which involve Persona 5’s Ryuji and two effeminate male characters, will be updated so that the men will no longer be shown in a “negative light,” Atlus communications manager Ari Advincula told IGN. “We actually were able to go through some of the lines that players may not have received as well, look at that feedback, and then [update it] for the current generation,” Advincula said....
Phantasy Star Online 2 first released on PC in Japan exactly a year ago today (July 4), but didn’t see any kind of western release until 2020. And while its first home console release in Japan was for the PS4 in 2016, when it did release worldwide it came to Xbox One first. Now, a decade on, the game is finally coming to PS4 this summer, on August 31. According to the figures(PDF) (PDF), there were 2.3 million PS5 units shipped during the April 1 - June 30 period. PlayStation 5 has sold 10.1 million units worldwide, which is up a bit compared to the 10 million sold as of July 18. This figure is also up compared to the 7.8 million units in total sold during the company’s fourth quarter of FY2020. During a call to investors this morning, Sony’s chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki stated that PS5 ($499) was no longer selling at a loss....

As part of today’s special Pokemon Direct, Game Freak revealed a few more details about Pokemon Home. Pokemon Home is essentially an evolution of Pokemon Bank: a paid cloud service that stores players’ Pokemon, and allows them to transfer Pokemon to Sword and Shield. Pokemon Home is not tied to a single console, and will be available to anyone through a smartphone app. When the paid service launches, players will be able to bring forward Pokemon stored under their account to Pokemon Sword and Shield for now, assuming the Pokemon are part of the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra expansions....

Sony has released a second firmware update for one of its consoles this week. After yesterday’s non-descript PS5 update, today we get a new firmware for PS4. Firmware 8.01 was released about an hour ago, and you won’t be surprised to learn that we don’t actually know what changes it made to the console. The sales milestone was reached in August, according to retail and sales tracker GfK. The PS5 achieved this three weeks earlier than its predecessor, the PS4. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the PS4 was actually ahead of the PS5 in sales right up until July, in large part because of the latter’s limited availability.
