Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be updated to version 13.00 next week on March 23, and Capcom has posted the notes for Title Update 3. Along with outlining what to expect with the update in the latest developer diary, the next content update was also touched upon. According to the developers, Update 4 will arrive in May and will feature the monster Alatreon. The new video diary also goes over the return of Kulve Taroth, new layered weapons, the spring festival, and more....

Devolver Digital has announced My Friend Pedro is heading to PS4 next week on April 2. The PS4 version of the game will also include the extra Code Yellow content. Starcraft: Ghost is a cancelled third-person stealth shooter Blizzard was working on with Nihilistic Software (and later Swingin’ Ape) between 2002-2006. The game would have been Blizzard’s first shooter, starring Nova. Outside of the official material released around that time, Ghost had mostly been forgotten about. Over the weekend, however, the game has seemingly reemerged thanks to a playable build that leaked online. Game preservationist Andrew Borman first spotted this leak, posting high-quality screenshots of the build, which he later clarified originate from “various Xbox groups”....

When you look back on the original Pokemon Snap now, it’s difficult not to think it was ahead of its time. After all, how many games have dedicated photo modes now? That also provides a challenge for this new game, though. Other games feature photo mode as a little bonus, a great use of development resources given how it so often creates free advertising with viral screenshots. Gastly, the Ghost/Poison-type Pokemon, is your next Community Day creature in Pokemon Go. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Gastly. During the July 19 Community Day, Gastly will be appearing more frequently in the wild. If you evolve it into Haunter during the event or up to two hours afterward, you will earn a Gengar that knows Shadow Punch. So, when I had the opportunity to play NieR:Automata on Switch this past week, I began the download with a quiver of ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ to hand. Now Nioh 2 is just around the corner, ready to reacquaint you with the true meaning of suffering. As highlighted by Gemastsu, Nioh 2 developer Team Ninja took to the game’s official Twitter account to announce the milestone....

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja’s samurai-themed action RPG Nioh 2 is launching on both PC and PlayStation 5 next year. A Complete Edition version of the game contains the base release, as well as its three DLC expansions, and supports 4K resolution and 120 frames-per-second. It’s set for a February 5, 2021 release date. Meanwhile, Nioh Remastered is coming to PlayStation 5 alongside the Nioh Collection which – as the name suggests – features updated versions of both entries in the series and come with the same aforementioned technical bumps....

The NPD December 2020 report has been released, and it finds total industry spending up 25% year-over-year, and up 27% for the entire year. In December, the market pulled in $7.7 billion, and $56.9 billion for the year. Hardware dollar sales reached $1.35 billion during December, up 38% year-over-year (yoy), making it the highest total December month since 2013 when $1.37 billion was pulled in. Annual hardware dollar sales totaled $5....

The NPD has released its analysis for the month of June 2020, noting a year-over-year increase overall. Software sales were up 49% yoy to $570 million. This is the highest total for a June month since the $598 million reached in 2010. The Last of Us: Part 2 unseated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which dropped to second place. Naughty Dog’s latest is now the third best-selling game of the year and the eighth best-selling game of the 12-month period ending June....

During an Overwatch 2 AMA on Reddit, members of Blizzard’s development team on Overwatch 2 have noted that the game is likely to make some ‘compromises’ when it comes to operating on Nintendo Switch. “As hardware has advanced since the launch of Overwatch, we are extending the OW2 engine with more high-end features,” John Lafleur said when he was asked by a Switch user on Reddit how the game would handle going forward (thanks, TheGamer)....

Blizzard announced Kaplan’s departure today. Founding member of the Overwatch team, Aaron Keller, will be stepping in as the game’s new director. “Aaron has been a critical part of the Overwatch team and a key driver in creating the vision for the game,” said Blizzard. “He helped create Overwatch as an original member of the team, and as an 18-year veteran at Blizzard, he has worked side-by-side with Jeff for a long time, not only in building Overwatch but previously in helping to build World of Warcraft as well....
