It’s been a while, but Apex Legends is getting a new map with Season 7. Details on the incoming arena are scarce at the moment, but EA and Respawn have at least given us a little bit of information in the form of a short blurb. “Ascend to a beautiful, lush city in the clouds," says the teaser in the official blog post. “Just watch your step — it’s a long way down to the planet below....

Odds are, if you see a game reveal that shows off a four-play, co-op shooter, you’ll probably think ‘oh hey, like Left 4 Dead.’ That’s what plenty of us did with Redfall, but in a recent interview with GamesRadar, creative director at Arkane Ricardo Bare dived deep into some details about the game, including all those comparisons to the classic Valve title. “It’s totally understandable for somebody to come to that conclusion,” Bare said of the Refall/ Left 4 Dead comparisons....

While the company has yet to make any official announcement for itself, news of the incoming free download arrived on a German-language discounts website and spotted by industry analyst Daniel Ahmad. The offer is apparently global, and downloaders will be able to keep the title forever. The deal also includes discounts on both Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations - which make up the full Ezio Collection. Ubisoft is giving away games all this month in an effort to encourage social distancing....

Epic has announced the second free game it will be offering later this week on the Epic Games Store. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the Industrial Revolution-set entry starring bothers Jacob and Evie Frye, is it. Syndicate was well received at launch, and even kept me - a non-fan of the series - hooked for hours thanks to its satisfying gameplay loop. Ubisoft released a big patch for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla just yesterday. This is the game’s first post-launch update, and the publisher crammed in a lot of bug fixes, as well key performance improvements. Or so we believed, because since the patch’s release, there have been numerous reports of performance problems across most next-gen consoles. Square Enix re-announced Babylon’s Fall in December 2019, and since then we’ve heard precious little about the Platinum-developed title. Luckily today, at E3 2021, we heard more about what we can expect from the upcoming title when it lands on PS4, PS5 and PC. Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios has announced that it’s bringing back The Panel from Hell this week. The Panel from Hell is what the team called last year’s release date livestream. This week’s episode, however, will serve two functions. First, Larian wants to share an update on the game’s development so far, and what the team is working on for 2021. This includes a look at Baldur’s Gate 3’s upgraded cinematics, improved Tieflings, spells and cows....

I never quite saw the point in a remake. Yeah, Cloud and his friends looked incredibly dated in the PS1 game, but as far as I could see it was a near-perfect product.
