Modder T0ST has published an article digging into the infamously appalling loading times in GTA Online. After doing some research and writing a unique program to interact with the game files, T0ST managed to reduce loading times by as much as 70%. Turns out that the game doesn’t necessarily struggle to load thanks to its open-world nature, but because there’s a CPU bottleneck that will be most felt on low- or mid-tier PCs, as well as a JSON parser that is apparently poorly implemented and can’t really deal with the 10MB JSON database the game needs to read in order to open up properly....

Take-Two, the parent company of GTA Online developer Rockstar, revealed as part of its Q1 earnings call that the game is getting new content exclusive to PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. The new content will arrive sometime in 2021. GTA 5, of course, was previously announced for PS5 and later Xbox Series X, due for release in the second half of the the year. Guilty Gear Strive developer Arc System Works has this morning announced that the anticipated fighting game is being pushed back to June 11, a two-months delay. The open beta for Guilty Gear Strive will start on February 19, Bandai Namco has announced. As mentioned above, if you pr-ordered any digital version of the game, you can jump into the open beta two days early on February 17. For everyone else, you can download it on February 18, but it won’t be playable until the servers go live on the 19th. The open beta will run through February 21....
