An expose into Polish studio Techland paints a rather chaotic working culture in the making of Dying Light 2. After Switch users notified Nintendo of unauthorized activity on their accounts, the company investigated the issue and found around 160,000 accounts may have been compromised with personal information readily available. According to Nintendo, the information made available through unauthorized access consisted of a user’s name, date of birth, gender, country or region, and email address. The company said there isn’t evidence currently regarding a breach of company databases, servers, or services....

A Pokemon Presents presentation will take place tomorrow, June 17, where we’ll hear more about the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC which is part of the Expansion Pass. The presentation is expected to last around 11 minutes. Team Ninja, the developer of Nioh, Dead or Alive and many musou games, has revealed that it’s working on a number of unannounced games, set to be revealed this year. In 4Gamer’s big year-end interview with leading Japanese development figures, Team Ninja’s longtime producer and game director Fumihiko Yasuda confirmed that the studio is working on “several new titles”, which will be announced over the course of 2021. It’s not clear if any of them are entirely new IPs, but Team Ninja’s recent output has us encouraged that the storied developer is working on something big....

“The broad answer is we already have a lot of products that are in development,” Suda said in the interview (via translator), “and over the next 10 years we have three original IPs that we’re working on and we have already planned out. “So you can definitely look forward to a lot of new, interesting original IPs from Grasshopper. The NPD has released its report for the month of July 2020. Software sales hit $3.3 billion in July 2020, which is up by 34% year-over-year (yoy). Digital content spending, which includes full game downloads, post-launch content, mobile, and subscription spending, increased by 41%. Year-to-date 2020 content spending reached $23.0 billion, up 21% yoy with the strongest gains coming from digital content spending on consoles. Ghost of Tsushima was July’s best-selling title and it debuted as the fifth best-selling game year-to-date....

What I mean by this is that the 4090 routinely and quite effortlessly does what I’ve only seen other cards do in very specific circumstances: it hits the point at which games can’t perform any better - not because of the card, but because the CPU can’t keep picking up what this beastly GPU is throwing down. This was primarily happening at lower resolutions like 1080p and 1440p but even occurred occasionally at 4K - and it was occurring with relatively recent games like Marvel’s Spider-Man....

Hello Games has announced its latest update to No Man’s Sky, Origins, will be released next week. According to the studio, more details and the patch notes will be released closer to Origins’ drop. Instead of discussing Origins in more detail, the blog post goes over previous updates made to the game. It does state, however, the update won’t be the biggest yet, but it is the “beginning of something new....

In what seems to be an endless list of issues, one Outriders player has discovered a particularly strange problem. Though it may not be anywhere near as severe as the inventory wipe bug, or the game’s general instability, it’s still serious enough for PC players. Like most games, when Outriders crashes on PC - and it does this a lot - it creates a crash file dump, which helps the developer track the root cause of the crash and hopefully fix it going forward....

The launch day build of Outriders will contain a multitude of general improvements, balancing, bug fixes, and crash resolutions. You can expect plenty of demo content bug fixes, including, for example, mods on some Legendary weapons not triggering properly. There will be balancing changes for various items, mods, enemy stats, and loot drops. Cross-play will no longer be in beta and will be on by default. PC players will be able to add cross-platform players that they have previously played with to their friends lists....
