The week-long celebration of Warhammer kicks off with a stream that’s guaranteed to feature new announcements from the studios behind games like Total War: Warhammer 3 and Darktide, to name but a few. The Warhammer Skulls Showcase will kick off on Thursday, June 3 at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST. You can watch all the action as it happens over on Twitch, where Games Workshop promises to show off “world premieres, exclusive first looks, details of special offers and free-to-keep video games, and new video game announcements”....

On Friday, Call of Duty: Warzone received a small balance patch that made a couple of tweaks to the weapon meta. As recently promised, the AMAX and FARA were among the weapons getting nerfed. Raven appears to be paying closer attention to balance this season, which is always good to see, but the developer has also taken the time to outline the reasoning behind each change. Starting with the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle, the patch dropped its minimum damage to 31 from 32....

We recently got to play a few hours of Watch Dogs Legion. Kirk was particularly impressed with the games seemingly infinite protagonists, as he spent a lot of his hands-on time scanning random people to build the perfect team of DedSec operatives. One other neat detail tucked away in near-future London was this callback to Assassin’s Creed. Not any game in particular, just the series’ trademark moment where the character approaches a high ledge, looks down and elegantly dives....

As usual, the games are available to Xbox Live Gold members and Xbox Games Pass Ultimate subscribers. First up is Yoku’s Island Express, which will be available May 1-31. In it, you play as Yoku, a parcel delivery person who lives and works in Mokumana, a tropical paradise. But first, he will travel the island helping others and try to waken an ancient deity “trapped in a restless sleep.” The game will have you exploring the open world, testing your pinball skills, and earning power-ups to help the locals....

If you’re looking forward to hearing more news about some of the games Xbox has been working on lately, we’ve got some good news for you: Microsoft has announced that “in-depth updates from some of our previously announced Xbox Game Studios titles alongside some of our third-party partners” will be shown off at Gamescom later this month. The official Gamescom 2021 Xbox Stream will kick off at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST on August 24, and will be hosted by Parris Lilly and Kate Yeager....

Available now to Xbox Insiders, the suspend game option is now available on the Manage Queue page. According to Xbox engineer Eden Marie, suspend in the queue will let you download at full speed while making sure your game remains resumable (or quick resume-able on Series X/S). Another new feature for Insiders comes in the form of two tabs in the Xbox Game Pass section. These are called Recently Added, and Leaving Soon....

During its Q4 FY20 call to investors yesterday evening, Microsoft CFO Amy Hood confirmed Xbox Series X was still on track to launch this fall. “Xbox Series X will launch this fall with the largest launch lineup for any console ever,” said Hood. Animal Crossing: New Horizons players will be able to transfer their save data to another Nintendo Switch soon. Nintendo has revealed that users will be able to move their island and residents to a new console as of November 19 as part of a big new update. Other new additions to everyone’s favourite cutesy debt accumulation simulation include new content for the upcoming holidays. On November 26, players will be able to celebrate Thanksgiving – sorry – Turkey Day, while on December 24, there’s some special event called Toy Day....

Rebellion has dropped a new edition of its famous 101 overview trailers, this time focusing on the upcoming Zombie Army 4: Dead War. The co-op zombie shooter boasts a stacked package full of things to do and earn. Dead War features a story campaign for up to four players, with the B-movie presentation fans of Rebellion should be familiar with. The campaign will take you around Europe to fight the undead horde, with unique enemies for each location....

Veteran gamers complained that “it wasn’t like this in their day,” that the halcyon days of picking a game cart off the shelf and plugging and playing were long dead.
