In an interview with Polygon, Doom Eternal game director Hugo Martin has dropped some hints that the series could go on to cover more, untold stories in the future – and that the story of rebooted Doom, really, could only just be beginning. “While this is the end of the story arc that began in Doom (2016), we planted a lot of stakes in the ground with that story,” Martin explains in the interview....
Developer 343 says that its efforts to improve Halo Infinite’s graphics have “finally come together.” In the latest Inside Infinite over on the Halo website, graphics producer Alex Le Boulicaut said that the various teams at 343 had been polishing the title’s visuals since its gameplay reveal in July 2020. This demo failed to impress fans, with 343 admitting later that it had “work to do” in the game’s graphics....
With the cancellation of E3 2020, it was expected Nintendo would host a Nintendo Direct in June to showcase its upcoming slate. Nintendo said when the ESA canceled E3 2020 it would continue to be “flexible" and would redirect its efforts to “other ways” to keep folks up to date on announcements and its upcoming slate for 2020. A presentation may not happen though, according to a VentureBeat report. Nintendo is said to have told its partners it won’t be hosting a Nintendo Direct in June due to complications surrounding Japan’s work from home order in the wake of COVID-19....

The release date was announced during the PlayStation Showcase earlier this evening alongside a trailer. The remastered game will include the base game and the two expansions, The Signal and The Writer, and will be published by Epic Games. It will be made available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC and in lovely 4k. The original Alan Wake was released in 2010 as an Xbox 360 exclusive before being ported to PC in 2012....

Dubbed System Override, this Apex Legends Collection Event goes live on March 3, and will be available until March 17. As with other Collection Events, System Override will come with its own rewards track. Players can earn 24 exclusive rewards by playing, which culminate with the Octane Heirloom Set. All of these are cosmetic and available for purchase through event loot boxes. The big news, however, is the new Deja Loot limited-time mode, which will be available during System Override’s run....
If this Apex Legends-branded Switch controller is any indication. The controller will be made available tomorrow, February 3. Many were expecting the game to arrive on Switch today with the start of Season 8, which brings Fuse to the game. A Japanese version of a trailer for the game stated in mid-January that Apex Legends is coming to Switch on the same day as the Season 8 launch, which again, is today February 2....

The service, which is said to be something between PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, may well be shown off at some point this week, if the rumours are true. It’ll reportedly debut with a nice lineup of “hit games from recent years” and come in multiple tiers with the most expensive offering extended demos and the ability to stream games, too. Last night’s Inside Xbox next-gen showcase was a presentation mostly filled with cinematic trailers and games not exclusive to next-gen consoles. Microsoft knew what it had, so it kept the event’s biggest ticket - Assassin’s Creed Valhalla - to the very end. The Valhalla reveal and CG trailer left fans excited, and many hoped Inside Xbox would deliver the goods. Even though Ubisoft promised gameplay, creative director Ashraf Ismail was quick to clarify that what was going to be shown isn’t a gameplay demo, but a mere teaser....

While it first looks like you just need the basic resources to upgrade your gear, you’ll also need ingots of various metals to allow for greater upgrades in the future....
