As per an English translation of a financial results briefing, Square Enix is unimpressed with how Marvel’s Avengers has performed since its launch earlier this year. The HD games segment of the Square Enix company has, according to the latest data, posted a 7 billion Yen loss for the last quarter in the financial year – that’s the equivalent of about $67 million. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda points to a combination of poor sales and an expensive marketing campaign for Marvel’s Avengers as the primary reasons for the loss....

Microsoft’s The Initiative studio has shared some information about how it is approaching its new Perfect Dark project. In a video on YouTube, some of the top developers on the project discussed how they are trying to make the title different from other first-person shooters on the market. The Last Oricru was unveiled today as one of several new IPs to be published by Koch Media’s new Prime Matter label. It is the debut game from Prague-based studio GoldKnights. The Last Oricru is a third-person action RPG set in a world that blurs the line between fantasy and sci-fi. You play as a human who arrives on an alien planet in the midst of a civil war. The game uses this outsider perspective to offer players different opportunities to make choices big and small; aiding certain NPCs over others, siding with some the different factions, and so on....
