The news comes from a report published by DigiTimes. “The life cycle for household game consoles may be shortened to five years from 6-7 years, and PS5 shipments may challenge 120-170 million units when its 5-year cycle expires,” reads the report, which draws on sources from the PS5’s backend supply in Taiwan. “[This is] compared to 110 million units registered to date for PS4 launched in November 2013, the sources said, adding that Sony has recently boosted its PS5 shipment estimate for 2020 to near 10 million units,” the report continues....

Ps5 To Launch Mid November Xbox Series X To Go First Report

August is nearly over and we still don’t have precise launch dates for either the Xbox Series X, or the PlayStation 5. Prices for either console have also yet to be revealed. Microsoft has already confirmed a November launch target for Series X, whereas Sony is sticking to the more nebulous holiday window for PS5. According to VGC, this may be because Microsoft intends to go first. VGC cites retail and development sources in saying that Xbox Series X will launch in the first week of November....

Rainbow Six Parasite Is Not Actually Quarantine S New Name Update

Update: Rainbow Six Parasite may not actually be the new name for Rainbow Six Quarantine. Ubisoft told PCGamesN that Parasite is simply an internal name for the upcoming co-op shooter, and not its final, official name. The publisher also explained that it recently hosted internal tests, which may explain why the Parasite name leaked in the first place. “We can confirm this is a glimpse of the upcoming game, and we will share more details, including the official name, soon,” Ubisoft added....

Resident Evil 3 Remake Review A Step Backwards

You start each game fumbling around its haunted houses - whether they’re extravagant mansions or museums that have been turned into police stations - and eventually you become so familiar with them that they feel like home. Resident Evil 3 Remake feels more like a single room in a Travelodge. Resident Evil 2 Remake’s Raccoon City Police Department was so well realised that it was always going to be difficult to top, but this sequel feels like a step backwards in almost every way....

Resident Evil Resistance Is Great But Even Government Sanctioned Lockdown Can T Get People Playing It

Reader, it was the end of their seven game win streak. I overlooked Resident Evil Resistance as a kind of bolted-on multiplayer throwback, since it was included with Resident Evil 3. It reminded me of when Dead Space got a weird multiplayer mode nobody asked for. But I’ve been playing it over the Easter weekend and I dig it a lot. I’m not too enamoured with playing as the survivors who have to fight their way through a range of labyrinthine maps, though....

This all comes via an official post on the Call of Duty website, featuring some insight from the RICOCHET team and a Q&A on ongoing updates and issues facing the games they have dominion over. The first question covers one that is in the mind of a vast number of Call of Duty players - if RICOCHET is so great, why am I still running into cheaters? “As we take steps to ensure our systems can identify and react to the known bad behavior; we fully expect cheat makers to continue devising new bad behaviors – some we can anticipate and some that we need to develop new systems against....

Oddly enough, there will be a limited number of physical games made, and that’s already driving more unscrupulous types to flood auction sites with listings of the game on sale for well over double the RRP....

Scarlet Nexus Psychokinesis Finish And Totally Lost Guide

If you’re trying to finish Totally Lost, though, then prepare yourself for some practice and grinding. Psychokinesis Finish is a tough skill to pull off, and you need to do it more than once. What is Scarlet Nexus Psychokinesis Finish Psychokinesis Finish is sort of a contradiction. It’s a PK skill that works only on opponents who are knocked down, but despite the name, it doesn’t fully finish them unless they’re close to defeat already....

Scorn Dev Says Biggest Difference For Next Gen Isn T Storage But Cpus

Scorn, currently in development at Ebb Studios, was originally supposed to be designed as a pair of games for Xbox Series X (it has since been confirmed that these plans were scrapped, and Scorn will instead launch as a single story that is playable from start to finish). In a recent interview with MSPowerUser, Peklar explained the reasoning behind Ebb’s decision to gear up for next-gen. “We didn’t [want to bring Scorn to current-gen] because we want our game to be played at 60fps," Peklar said....

People of colour obviously contribute to many of the games we play, but we wanted to signal boost some of the smaller teams struggling to get noticed....

Spiritfarer Dev Apologises For Ableist Storyline Pledges To Fix It

Spiritfarer developer Thunder Lotus has issued a statement apologising for how one story in the game represented a disabled character. Gustav, a once wheelchair-bound bird mentions in one conversation how death freed them from their wheelchair. Kayla Whaley argued how this perpetuates a view that death can be better than living with a disability, something that is insensitive to disabled people who excel in spite of their disabilities. Thunder Lotus conceded that some of the writing is ableist, and promised to change it, and reexamine the game for any other material that may have similar ableist undertones....
