According to the report, WoW Classic and World of Warcraft Shadowlands helped drive revenue with Hearthstone providing some help too. Going by the player figures, noted by Massively OP, it appears Blizzard has lost 2 million players across its games since Activision Blizzard released its Q4 2020 results. At last count, there were 29 million active users in Q4 2020. That number has dropped to 27 million for Q1 2021....

Rumors about the potential for a Bloodborne remaster have been spreading like wildfire all weekend after a streamer called CaseyExplosion offered to donate $100 to a racial justice charity in exchange for some insider information about the future of Bloodborne. Check out the tweet below. CaseyExplosion followed up less than 20 minutes later, saying she not only knew that a Bloodborne remaster would be coming to PC, but also who was handling the port....

The fourth campaign DLC for Borderlands 3 won’t be revealed until next week, but until then, we have a teaser to hold us over. And look who it stars - Krieg from Borderlands 2. No further information was provided with the teaser, just that all will come to light on August 25. This will be the latest DLC as part of the Borderlands 3 Season Pass. It follows the release of Moxxi’s Heist on the Handsome Jackpot, Guns, Love, and Tentacles, and Bounty of Blood....

Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock is described as a Lovecraft-influence add-on for the Borderlands 3 campaign, which will see you team up with old and new pals in a fight against eldritch horror. The DLC includes new Legendary gear, class mods, and cosmetics for characters and vehicles too. “Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs are finally tying the knot, and they want you to come celebrate their upcoming nuptials on the ice planet of Xylourgos,” reads the DLC synopsis....

Following last night’s big Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reveal, Activision has clarified a few remaining details about how players will be able to upgrade from PS4 to PS5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series X. There’s the $70 Next-Gen Bundle, of course, and the option to upgrade digital editions within the same console family. When it comes to moving forward a disc-based version of Black Ops Cold War, the option is available - but only on PS4....

The NPD Group has revealed the winners of December 2019 and the full year in its latest industry report for America. In December, the industry generated $3 billion across software, hardware and accessories, a 15% drop compared to December 2018. $14.6 billion was the games industry’s entire revenue as tracked by NPD in 2019, itself a 13% drop compared to 2019. Hardware Hardware continued to decline overall in December, dropping 17% compared to the year before....

As we’ve come to expect every week, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has received a new playlist update that refreshes the main mode list. These playlist updates are server-side, so you don’t have to worry about downloads. This week’s refresh added a 1v1 version of the popular Gunfight mode. Traditional 2v2 Gunfight remains, but it’s no longer being highlighted on the main multiplayer landing page. The dedicated Shipment 24/7 playlist is back, replacing Shoot House 24/7....

Activision has outlined what players can expect this week in Call of Duty: Warzone. The biggest news is the arrival of a new mode. Quads will remain, and Trios will get a new mode in the form of Scopes and Scatter Guns, which Infinity Ward teased at the launch of Season three. Scopes and Scatter Guns limits the weapons to just snipers and shotguns. The blog post doesn’t clarify whether that only applies to floor loot or all weapons....

Call of Duty: Warzone’s first big patch has arrived and with it, the introduction of solos mode. Solos works as it does in other battle royale games, limiting the match to just solo players. There’s nothing particularly special about this one, but it was one of the first things players requested at the launch of Warzone, as it can sometimes be hard to find competent teammates when no one you know wants to play....

Frustrated Warzone players are once again taking to Reddit to discuss their annoyances with the seminal Call of Duty battle royale. Clips of players being hunted down and eliminated by invisible attackers have been making the rounds since the mid-Season 4 update, but the one embedded below is possibly the most egregious. In the gameplay clip, we can see a player getting showered with bullets that don’t appear to be coming from a specific enemy....

We’ve had another look at the upcoming astronaut shooter Boundary. The video debuted during IGN Fan Fest 2021 and shows off what we can expect from the FPS. This includes rad zero gravity shooting, some cosmonauts – sorry, “astroperators” – riddling each other with bullets both inside and outside of a space station and… some spacecraft thing with two miniguns attached. All in all, it looks like a lot of chaos, as well as a pretty fun time....

According to the official announcement in March of this year, this PlayStation Plus update offers various different titles for download depending on what version of the subscription version you get. For PS Extra owners, “a catalogue of up to 400* of the most enjoyable PS4 and PS5 games – including blockbuster hits from our PlayStation Studios catalogue and third-party partners.” If you go all the way for PS Premium, “A catalogue of beloved classic games available in both streaming and download options from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations”....

Crucible is not even three weeks-old and it seems players have already moved on. After a lacklustre launch, and big drops in active players, the developer has revealed how it’s going to address player response. For one, two of Crucible’s game modes - Harvester Command and Alpha Hunters - will both be removed. This will allow the team to focus on Heart of the Hives, not to mention concentrate the remaining players into one hopper....
