Nintendo shared the news today on social media, announcing that the show will kick off at 3pm PT, 6pm ET, 11pm UK, and run for roughly 40 minutes. This will be the first proper Direct since E3. We’re “mainly” getting a look at games coming to Switch this winter, according to Nintendo. So expect first-party games like Metroid Dread, as well as third-party projects. We do hope to also get a look at titles further off, such as the next Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, and maybe even Bayonetta 3 - if we’re lucky....
This E3’s Square Enix Presents was frankly a bit of a deflating mess, even if it did deliver an announcement of a good-looking Guardians of the Galaxy game and long-awaited Final Fantasy 1-6 remasters. It seemed there was always a catch; there was too much Guardians, with it taking up half the broadcast, and the FF pixel remaster announcement that should’ve been an easy slam dunk was so pathetic that the most dedicated fans have spent hours trying to figure out what those remasters will actually be like....

According to a Push Square report, Sony is getting ready to launch a new PlayStation Store experience that will be available on the web and on mobile. Though it is very slim on specifics, the report says Sony alerted developers that the new store will be going live later this month. The new store’s library will only include PS4 and PS5 games. PS3, PSP and PS Vita games will continue to have their own stores....
The financial results cover up to the end of the quarter, March 31, and obviously briefly touched on that whole Microsoft acquisition thing. It noted that the transaction is “expected to close in Microsoft’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2023,” with the boards of both Activision Blizzard and Microsoft having approved it. More interestingly, the results touched on the upcoming sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, and the new Warzone “experience”, which still isn’t particularly clear....

During a Reddit AMA dedicated to showing off more information about Apex Legends’ latest Season, Season 10: Emergence, a user on the site asked the development team whether “any rough timeline” on cross-progression in the battle royale (thanks, PCGamesN). Apex Legends’ director of communications, Ryan K. Ubisoft is rolling out a new update today for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The patch, version 1.5.4, is between 3 and 4GB, with only a short list of fixes. But that won’t be the end of new content for Odyssey, as Ubisoft revealed the new Northern Traveler’s Set. This armour set is very reminiscent of the Viking getup seen in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It also comes with an adorned two-handed axe, as seen in Valhalla’s gameplay....
