For being a Mario game, there’s been remarkably little time between the surprise reveal of Paper Mario: The Origami King, and its release this Friday on Switch. Paper Mario: The Origami King is, much like its predecessors, a comedic adventure set in a world made out of paper and cardboard. Olly is the eponymous king, who is on a quest to fold the Origami Kingdom. The Origami King’s combat mixes puzzles with turn-based tactics, but doesn’t bring back too many of the RPG mechanics fans of the older Paper Mario games are familiar with....

The last time we heard about Payday 3, developer Starbreeze suggested that we wouldn’t be seeing the game until at least 2022. Now, the company has issued a small update on the game: it’s alive, and still it the design phase. In a tweet from the official Payday 2 Twitter account, the developer confirmed that the next title in the series is alive, and that the game will drop the controversial and aging Diesel Engine in favor of Epic’s Unreal Engine....

Google has announced its made its Stadia Pro subscription service free for the next two months. Playdate, the handheld console with a crank, will be available to pre-order on Thursday, July 29. Pre-orders open up directly on the Playdate website at 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm UK. You’ll be able to pre-order the console on its own, for $179, a cover for $29, or a bundle of the two for $199. Panic, the company behind this unique handheld, promised that pre-orders will not sell out. Every order will be placed in a queue, and everyone is required to pay the full amount when pre-ordering (though you can cancel at any time), which should help deter scalpers....

First announced back in July, PlayStation Stars has now launched in Asia this week, with the confirmation that the loyalty program will come to North America and Europe in October. However, as reported by VGC, top members of the program are supposedly being given priority when it comes to customer support, which a number of players aren’t happy with.
