Dontnod announced a December 1 release date for Twin Mirror today alongside a new trailer. The game will be made available on PS4 and Xbox One and exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC for one year. A new gameplay trailer showcasing the main character Sam Higgs’ Mind Palace is below. Twin Mirror is Dontdond’s first self-published title and co-produced with Shibuya Productions. In this psychological thriller, Sam Higgs had come back to his hometown of Basswood, West Virginia for a funeral....

Ubisoft has opened up the Insider Program for Skull and Bones, which provides the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the game while also providing real data and feedback. This won’t be a series of demos, but full-on playing current builds and it sounds as though you will need to have ample personal time to thoroughly test. Ubisoft particularly wants participants to be “dedicated to testing work in progress versions,” and the ideal candidate will have a keen interest in game development, with plenty of time to allocate to testing and reporting issues, bugs, or just general feedback....

In a Steam Deck hardware deep dive with IGN, Valve developer Pierre-Loup Griffais explained that the industry trend of pushing sharper resolutions and higher framerates bodes well for the upcoming handheld, in part because of its low-resolution screen and 30fps target. This made it sound like Valve is targeting 30fps for Steam Deck games, which didn’t quite make sense given Steam Deck’s impressive specs, so Griffais has now clarified what he actually meant by that....

Developer The Astronauts announced today that it has pushed back the early access release of the game to sometime in early 2023. In a blog post, the developer revealed that it’s changing the game’s combat flow from arena-style encounters to the more organic open-world combat. This is significant enough to warrant that delay, but the good news is that the feature is “95% implemented.” “It makes the game better. It is kind of hard for me to imagine the player did not have that freedom before,” explained creative director Adrian Chmielarz....
