The Borderlands 3 next-gen upgrade will arrive on Xbox Series X/S November 10, and on PS5 November 12, and November 19, depending on your region. It has been fully optimized to take advantage of the next-gen consoles’ processing power, bringing a new level of graphical fidelity. On both consoles, the game will play in 60 frames per second in 4K resolution during single-player and online co-op, and all next-gen consoles will support three- and four-player split-screen for local multiplayer....
After California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) filed the sexual harrassment and bullying lawsuit in July, which accused the company of creating a frat-like culture where female employees faced “constant sexual harassment” and discrimination, Activision Blizzard has apparently encouraged employees to talk to attorneys at the WilmerHale law firm instead of state investigators (via Axios). The DFEH also claims Activision Blizzard has effectively tried to gag its employees by making them sign waivers that prevent them from speaking freely to investigators....
Infinity Ward just rolled out a small update for both Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare. The surprise patch is entirely made up of balance tweaks and bug fixes. Without question, the biggest change has to do with the .357 Snake Shot, a weapon attachment that turns the .357 (magnum) into a small shotgun. In Warzone, its damage and consistency outclassed everything else. It got so powerful, in fact, that we had to include it in our best Warzone loadouts....
Infinity Ward rolled out a new small patch for Call of Duty: Warzone that fixes a few miscellaneous bugs. One of the patch’s more interesting changes is the removal of Counter UAVs, but only those that would sometimes be found in loot boxes. A Counter UAV can still be activated by popping four UAVs at the same time, but it looks like Infinity Ward wasn’t quite ready for players to start finding them as lootable items just yet....
Developer Infinity Ward has dropped the first trailer to its free-to-play battle royale game following weeks of rumours, leaks, and eventually an official countdown. As confirmed by the trailer, Warzone will release March 10 - that’s tomorrow - and features two different modes. The first is a Battle Royale which takes place on the huge Verdansk map and pits 150 players against one another and will include trio squads. The second is Plunder Mode, which also takes place on the Verdansk map and will see players fight to collect in-game cash by looting from areas around the map....
Each game is expected to be released sometime between now and next spring. The unlisted games are slated for the company’s current fiscal year which ends on March 31, 2023. It’s quite possible one of the games in question is Pragmata, announced in June 2020 during a PS5 Showcase. Originally said to be releasing in 2022, the game is now slated for 2023. While Capcom promised more information on the game would come in 2021, we’ve really heard nothing at all about it other than what was revealed when the game was announced....
The series is really remembered for Street Fighter 2, of course. In fact, it’s easy to imagine a world where that first game never got a sequel, and what a worse world that is - with no Street Fighter, there’s no Mortal Kombat, no King of Fighters, no Killer Instinct… it’s not worth thinking about. The difference between Street Fighter and its sequel raises what I think to be an interesting pattern in the series; an ebb and flow that matches up to the game’s numbered status....

According to CDP, Digital Scapes have put in a “great deal of work” during the making of Cyberpunk 2077, assisting with the development of the game and optimizing its various features. In addition to contributing to projects the new team will help CDP with technologies in order to “broaden its competencies.” The development studio will hitherto be known as CD Projekt RED Vancouver, joining the three existing development teams based in Warsaw, Krakow, and Wroclaw to jointly work on upcoming projects....
Though it was plagued with glitches and almost unplayable on Xbox One and PS4 at launch, CD Projekt Red still believes in Cyberpunk 2077, and reckons there’s a lot of life left in the game as the studio looks towards the future. In a statement to Reuters, CD Projekt’s joint CEO Adam Kicinski has reassured investors and fans that the game will be fixed – and that the studio isn’t simply going to abandon the troubled project....

The number of people playing games on Steam with a controller has doubled in the last two years. That’s according to Valve, who wrote in a blog post about its support for the newly-launched PlayStation 5’s DualSense gamepad that using a controller was an increasingly popular way of playing games on the PC platform. As revealed in a previous update, the developer is doubling down on the Heart of the Hives mode, and it’ll be using the closed beta to more directly solicit fan feedback. The team is planning weekly play sessions with the community. It’s also working on building a community council that includes casual and competitive players, to help shape the game’s future.
