Earlier this week (June 30), the Fallout London Twitter account had some news to share regarding the Fallout 4 mod. Specifically, that one of the developers working on the mod, Ryan Johnson, was leaving the team to go work at Bethesda as an associate level designer. Johnson had served as the lead technical advisor on the mod, where he gave advice (as the name suggests) to the team’s level designers....
According to an exclusive with VGC, Ubisoft is shaking up the editorial team which is basically an advisory board handling upcoming games (thanks, GI.biz). In the article, it states chief creative officer Serge Hascoet will maintain his position as head of the editorial group; however, he will be given a larger team to help advise on the company’s game portfolio in order to make sure the games are more varied....
The whole thing reeked of a design by committee obligation created solely to hype the potential of the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One, one of those swanky trailers for a launch title that’s destined to be quietly cancelled and forgotten about – but this one, inexplicably, made it to release somehow. That really should have been the end of Watch Dogs, and for many of you it probably was. It’s hard to imagine a game that had fewer expectations than Watch Dogs 2....
When Ubisoft decided to delay its entire slate of games late last year, it came at a time when Watch Dogs Legion creative director Clint Hocking was ready to finish the game. But once he got over that, Hocking realised how the extra time could really help the game. Speaking to IGN, Hocking explained that the delay benefited the game’s core mechanic - playing as anyone - the most. Although the underlying systems had all been in place before, the added development time allowed the team to really make each variation of traits its own character....

Though you may not have noticed, Doom Eternal launched with a Battle Pass-like progression system. It was free and only featured a handful of levels, but the rewards were worth the grind so it worked out. Id Software has now launched Doom Eternal’s second Series, titled Coffee and Camo. Like its predecessor, it’s entirely free. You progress through the tiers by playing the campaign as you would normally, as well as the multiplayer Battle Mode....
From now until July 27, Ubisoft is offering a free trial for Uplay+. The trial is available for new and eligible returning subscribers. With the trial, you will have access to all games available on the service and will be able to continue to play while it’s active. In order to continue playing, you will need to subscribe. It will cost you $14.99 per month or the regional equivalent. Along with access to over 100 games, the subscription service includes access to deluxe, gold, and limited editions including additional content such as expansions and games with a season pass....

Virgin Media customers in the UK are being handed early access to the Marvel’s Avengers beta this weekend on PC and Xbox One. The beta period for customers is August 14-16, and to apply for a code, you will need to visit the Virgin Media website. Here’s further instructions: Alongside beta access, the company also confirmed the set of skins that you can use in the game at launch. When the game is released on September 4, Virgin Media customers will have 90 days to claim the exclusive outfits which can be applied to each main character....
Call of Duty: Warzone represents a number of firsts for publisher Activision. It’s the first entirely free-to-play mode in series history, and it’s the first to be supported alongside future core titles. Activision’s intention to carry Warzone forward alongside the standard, yearly Call of Duty games was communicated through the mode’s very name, which doesn’t tie it into any one game. Though the plan is to keep it fresh for years to come, that process hasn’t been quite nailed down yet....

Capcom’s E3 2021 livestream takes place today, away from any other showcase by a major publisher. The Capcom event kicks off 2:30pm, 5:30pm ET, 10:30pm UK. This event so far looks to be among the most predictable. Capcom previously said to expect updates on Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Resident Evil Village, and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. With Cyberpunk 2077 now coming later than originally anticipated, many of us are looking forward to the game’s gameplay livestream today to hold us over until release. This will be our first look at Cyberpunk 2077 this year, and developer CD Projekt Red has plenty planned. The show, dubbed Night City Wire, kicks off at 9am PT, 12pm ET, 5pm UK and will run for 25 minutes. In a tweet coming from the Dead Space game account, we’ve learned that the developer intends to showcase a “very early look at the development” of the remake, which will give us a little more insight into the project – the first tiumme we’ll get to see the game since it was announced during EA Play Live 2021.
