Outriders will be released on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms on February 2. It will come to Stadia later in 2021. The game will feature cross-play compatibility across all formats, and players who purchase the game on current-gen consoles will be able to upgrade from PS4 to PS5 for free. To upgrade PS4 disc copies, players will need a PS5 console with a disc drive. Players can also upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S for free with Smart Delivery....

The Lunar New Year 2020 event has kicked off in Overwatch. As usual, there are brand-new rewards available to earn, so log in and play before it all ends on February 6. This year the new game mode is CFT Blitz, a modified version of Capture the Flag. This time out, the flags are closer than before at the locations overtime games go to. You will also need six captures instead of three to win....

The news comes from Gematsu, and serves as a follow-up to the recent announcement that Persona 4 Golden has shipped over 500,000 units since launching on Steam last month. It has also been confirmed that, with the addition of these figures, total sales for the Persona series as a whole have surpassed 13 million units globally. Persona 5 Royal launched in the west on March 31, 2020 after having been released earlier in Japan and the rest of Asia....

The Wonderful 101: Remastered is Platinum Games’ first self-published project. It’s also the studio’s first ever crowdfunding campaign, and many are wondering if this is the route future projects will take. According to Platinum, not necessarily. Speaking to Eurogamer, lead producer Atsushi Inaba explained that The Wonderful 101’s campaign wasn’t so much about raising money, but gauging interest. “This is an original case - it’s not so much the case that we’re saying hey we need money,” said Inaba....

But fans eager for an update on the Switch-exclusive title could be in for some good news later this year, though. In an interview on Hamster’s Arcade Archives streams, Platinum’s infamously frosty lead developer, Hideki Kamiya, was asked about how progress is going on the highly-anticipated action game. “We’ve been working on new stuff like Bayonetta 3, not that I can say too much… but I hope we can give an update during the year” the developer replied, as per a translation from Nintendo Everything....

That isn’t all that there is to be excited about either, given that there are going to be multiple Pokemon GO code giveaways during the stream too. The championships have already started, with things kicking off at 9am BST on Thursday 18 August. However, if you haven’t had the time to tune in yet, don’t fear; the event, and stream, will be running until Sunday, 21 August. Throughout the tournament, we’re going to see competitive Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokken Tournament DX, and even competitive Pokemon GO and Pokemon Unite, which are new to the lineup this year....

By its very nature it looks back - to a region we’ve previously visited, and quite literally into the chronological past of the Pokemon universe. But also, it looks forward: to a new style of open-ended play, in a new type of Pokemon world. It fits an anniversary celebration. I’m particularly excited to see the game described in official documentation as an Action RPG. Pokemon has of course long been a staunch traditionalist in terms of static, traditional turn-based play - and while I’m all for that, it’s particularly exciting to see the series tread entirely new ground....

Game Freak has previously described the games as an “evolutionary” step forward for Pokemon, noting that they feature an “open world where various towns with no borders blend seamlessly into the wilderness.” In today’s trailer, we got our first proper look at that world – alongside some surprising new headline features. First up, you’ll get a different professor to work with and whose PokeDex you’ll collaborate on filling up, depending on which version you pick....

The bug can occur towards the end of the game. It usually causes it to crash, displaying the “Software was closed because an error occurred,” error message. Near the end of the game, if you destroy a door while a map marker for the same door is displayed on the map, the game is going to crash. If that happens, you won’t be able to continue playing, but there’s one way you could prevent it from happening and keep going....

Sony has officially detailed firmware update 8.00 for the PS4. Available to download now, 8.00 - unlike many of the recent incremental updates - actually does bring a couple of new features. The biggest comes to the PS4’s Party screen, which will now integrate Messages better into the party UI. The same groups of people you have will be shared across both. This also means that PS4 players will be able to message and join party chat with their friends on PS5....

According to the NPD, total videogame industry spending increased 3% year-over-year (yoy) to $6.3 billion with growth driven by a 45% increase in hardware dollar sales. November brings year-to-date spending to $49 billion, which is a 6% decline yoy. Hardware saw a 45% increase yoy to $1.3 billion, led by PlayStation 5 in both unit and dollar sales. PS5’s lead was due to an increase in retail volume compared to the same period in 2021, and it remains the best-selling hardware platform of 2022 in year-to-date dollar sales....

These new colours include Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. These three join the previously released Cosmic Red and Midnight Black colours, which have been available to purchase since June. The console covers are entirely new, and are getting matching colours to go alongside both the three new colours just announced plus the black and red controllers. Console covers will be available for both versions of the PS5s - those being the digital version and the standard console with a disc drive....

All four spotlight parts are scattered near each other, but since they’re underwater, you can only manage one at a time before your oxygen starts running out. Travel to the giant yellow crane on Varuna Point, then turn around and jump into the water. You’ll see a cluster of jellyfish lingering near an opening....

After receiving complaints from players about the inclusion and intensity of lens flare in Verdansk ‘84, a developer at Raven has suggested the studio will look into solutions to fix the brightness in the map. Players have been complaining about brightness since Verdansk 84 came to Warzone at the start of Season 3, with some lamenting the fact the brightness change is too drastic when you run indoors/outdoors and others noting that it gives snipers more cover as their glints are obscured in bright light....

The developer of the Remothered horror series Stormind Games is launching a new RPG, Batora: Lost Haven. This is a new IP set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One as well as Nintendo Switch and PC. Batora stars Avril, a teenage girl who goes on a journey to save the world, which is apparently dying. Yep, we just checked the press release and the hero’s name is definitely Avril, not Greta Thunberg....

Sony just unveiled Housemarque’s new shooter: Returnal, coming to PS5. Returnal is a third-person shooter with a roguelike element. The planet where it takes place is hostile to human life, and changes every time we die. This neat mechanic is shown off in today’s trailer. As with other PS5 games, Returnal takes advantage of 3D audio and haptic feedback. The console’s SSD allows for fast restarts after dying, too. Unfortunately, no official release date was provided today, but you can enjoy the trailer in full below....

The new champion, Bel’veth, is an empress and “God of Oblivion” coming from the heart of the Void in Runeterra. Bel’Veth is decribed as a “dark cancer” that has metastasized within the heart of the Void, and she wants to consume and rebuild Runeterra in her own image. She devours whole cities and their populations and repurposes the information gathered from each into an alien landscape known as the Lavender Sea....

As we approach the launch of CD Projekt Red’s titanic RPG this November, fans have been posting all kinds of art inspired by the game. Some people have drawn up concept art for what Geralt, Ciri, and Triss could look like in Cyberpunk 2077’s custom character creator - others, like Russian beatboxer Improver, have taken a more musically-inspired approach.
