EA has announced Sonic Mania is now available through its Origin Access Premier service. The title’s Encore DLC is also available for purchase. Sony Interactive Entertainment has acquired fighting game tournament Evo. PlayStation now co-owns Evo, along with a new esports venture called RTS. The 25-year-old tournament will return this year, as an online-only event. Evo co-founders Tom and Tony Cannon will remain involved with the tournament in “advisory roles.” As for this year’s event, it will take place entirely digitally on August 6 – 8 and again 13 - 15. The line-up so far includes Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, and Guilty Gear Strive....
In a tweet from Jon Cartwright, later confirmed by VG247, it seems that the games have both been delisted from the digital storefront, meaning that if you didn’t buy them before now, you are unable to purchase them and add them to your accont now. You can check out both games – each of which are listed as unavailable at the links. Given that both games were playable on Xbox One (and, by extension, Xbox Series X/S) it’s odd that the games have been removed....

Respawn and EA dropped a surprisingly big update this week for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The patch adds a number of new features, some cosmetic content as well as fix a few remaining bugs. The highlight is the Meditation Training, essentially a new game mode that can be accessed from any of the Meditation points across the game’s worlds, though only in new game plus. Meditation Training encompasses two modes: Combat Challenges and the Battle Grid....
Bethesda’s mysterious first-person role-playing title is apparently going to be a console exclusive for Xbox Series X/S, according to GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb, citing sources familiar with the situation. After tweeting that “Starfield is exclusive to Xbox and PC,” Grubb expanded on his comments in the article, noting that “Starfield is most valuable to Microsoft as a means to grow Xbox Game Pass.” “An effort like a blockbuster game release from the team that made The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is best if Microsoft treats it as an investment into a larger service,” posits Grubb....
Data miner Pavel Djundik has found several references to a cloud gaming operation in the beta client’s code, along with additional code that refers to timed trials. “The timed trials and cloud gaming are related to each other, there’s ‘GetCloudGameTimeRemaining’ method,” Djundik suggests over Twitter. “We knew about NVIDIA before, but this beta adds more methods for Steam to interact with the NVIDIA cloud. “For example, CloudGamingNVIDIAUpdateGameList”. This is the first we’ve heard about an apparent Steam Cloud Gaming service since last year, when Steam’s developer-only portal received a code update with references to the service....

Polish studio Techland is going to providing a bit more information about Dying Light 2 in just a few days. As a psychological horror game, Homebody is rather different from Game Grumps’ prior adventure with Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, which is exactly as it sounds (although, a lot more wholesome than you might expect). Double Eleven is expanding the inmate reform systems in prison management simulator Prison Architect. Titled Second Chances, the expansion introduces prisoner rehabilitation programs, allowing inmates to reduce their sentences and reintegrate into society. Each program in the expansion offers different means of rehabilitation. This includes opportunities for inmates to socialize with civilians, take classes on conflict resolution, and more.
