I thought about that interview as I played Evil West, the new game from the shooter masters at Polish studio, Flying Wild Hog. Evil West is an old-school action game that blends melee combat with firearms; a hybrid you don’t often see in the modern era. Set in an alternate version of America’s wild west frontier lands, the story follows a secretive vampire-hunting order that has been dealing with an evolving threat for generations, while the government covers up their discoveries as viral outbreaks....

Alongside the new entry in the series, the developers also announced the Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition which comes with exclusive F1 2020 content and three days early access. For the first time in the series, you will be able to create your own F1 team in the My Team game mode. Your created team will be able to race alongside side the current Formula One line-up, along with a new driver-manager experience....

Fall Guys developers will now get to work on four new costumes representing G2 Esports, Aimlab, streamer Ninja, and YouTuber MrBeast - the winners of the contest....

As spotted by Insider Gaming, notable Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope recently shared a list of unreleased operators for Modern Warfare 2. Call of Duty leaks are a dime a dozen, but this one lists big name footballers like Lionel Messi, Neymar, and more as potential operators. TheGhostOfHope wasn’t able to elaborate on the leak, noting that they don’t have “a clue why” it’s a list of football player names....

In the statement posted to the official Twitter account, Yoshida broke the bad news and explained why: “I promised I would have more information on Final Fantasy XVI sometime later in 2021. However, I regret to inform you that I will be unable to keep that promise as complications stemming from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have delayed the game’s development by almost a half year.” Yoshida further explained that the team has been working from home due to COVID, which has hampered to development of the title to some degree....

People talk a big game about the cast of the original Final Fantasy 7. As they should; the cast is excellent. But one of the best-developed members of the cast is Yuffie - who quietly builds out a unique and memorable presence despite being an optional party member who as a result has much less to do with the thrust of the main game’s story. In the original FF7, Yuffie is encountered at random on the world map, with the likelihood you’ll run into her increasing dramatically the deeper into the game you get....

It is pretty much common knowledge that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is exclusive to PS4 for a year. Though we obviously don’t know what platforms it will come to once that exclusivity period ends, it looks like PC will be one of them. Publisher Square Enix released a video celebrating the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, featuring a message from lead producer Yoshinori Kitase. The Final Fantasy series has had a lot of spin-offs and sidebars over the years, but Crystal Chronicles is surely one of the greatest. Developed as a triumphant and exclusive return to Nintendo after the messy divorce between FFs 6 and 7, it was something truly different: a multiplayer-focused action RPG with weird, unique and engaging mechanics. Everything about Crystal Chronicles stood apart. While Final Fantasy was on a trend towards realism, Crystal Chronicles featured a more simple, characterful art style....

Larian has pushed out the first hotfix for Baldur’s Gate 3. Hotfix One brings a number of crash fixes, as well as various other smaller gameplay tweaks. This is not the one Larian promised will address the multiplayer problems - that one is still in the works. Nevertheless, the developer wanted to get this one out of the way now. It’s not clear when the multiplayer fixes will arrive. Outside of the crash fixes, today’s update corrects a few problems with the Pickup and Pickup and Add to Wares commands, overlapping views in the inventory screen, and a problem that resulted in players being unable to ready up when someone joins the lobby....

If you’d asked me who all those specialist flight simulator peripherals were for before the new version of Microsoft Flight Simulator launched, I would’ve just said, y’know, actual pilots, or pilots-in-training. The hardcore flight simulation people. The nerds. That description probably isn’t inaccurate. But beware of how blissfully brilliant Microsoft Flight Simulator’s latest outing is: it’ll turn you into one of them too. I used to look at all this specialist hardware with curious bemusement....

A short new trailer showed off Fort Solis, a brand new title from Polish studio Fallen Leaf. Not much was shown in the reveal trailer, but there certainly is a pretty strong atmosphere. Gameplay looks to be slow paced, but again it’s a very short trailer so it isn’t particularly clear what you do in it other than walk around a scary looking space base on Mars. “Fort Solis is a single player third person thriller set on the far side of Mars,” reads a press release....

There’s still more to see, however, as the season also introduces weapon crafting, the game’s first single-player story segment, and a whole host of other new skins which are worth looking out for (even if they’re maybe not Tomb Raider levels of cool). Speaking in a call to investors, GameStop executive vice president and CFO Jim Bell announced the closures will be “equal to or more than” the 320 stores it closed last year. “In 2020, we will continue our work to densify our global store fleet and anticipate store closures to be equal to or more than 320 net closures we saw in fiscal 2019 on a global basis,” said Bell (via Seeking Alpha)....
