Deathloop presents a world without consequence, where even those you kill will resurrect when this violent groundhog day spins back up. “You can really go crazy, go loud, go silent, explore as much as you want or be as fast as you want, but without missing out on the content,” game director Dinga Bakaba explains....

The long-awaited Trials of Osiris comes to Destiny 2 on March 13 once the new season begins. Thanks to the community’s efforts to complete the mission of depositing Polarized Fractaline to the Empyrean Foundation, Trials was revealed in an in-game cutscene last night. When you next log into Destiny 2, you’ll be treated to a special message from Bungie that takes place at the Lighthouse, where the Trials took place....

Though the embattled developer did post its first official word in 2022 earlier this week, much of it wasn’t particularly well received. DICE announced and released a small new Battlefield 2042 patch, made a few adjustments to XP earn rate in Portal, and showed off a new scoreboard design that’s set to arrive in mid-to-late February as part of a bigger patch. Unfortunately, the developer did not bring up any of the myriad of design problems many players take issue with....

Dota Underlords, Valve’s take on the popular Dota 2 Auto Chess mod, is leaving Steam Early Access on February 25. This is also when the game’s first season will kick off. The latest update, available now, introduces a new hero: Enno, as well as the new poison status effect. Enno is a ranged character, who’s going to make use of said poison status effect, which applies to his attacks....

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players will need to download a day-one update upon firing up the game. The 1.01 patch’s main deal is it adds day-one bonus content, but update 1.02 adds much more to the title. For starters, it improves load times and adds direct travel to two locations. It also adds 11 sub-quests to the game, reduces the fee entry of Time Attacks, and make other “miscellaneous” adjustments....

It’s much the same in the Dying Light 2 Bloody Ties DLC. The zombies spew fire a bit too close to you. When the ringmaster invites you to the center ring, it’s because he wants to extract your intestines as painfully as possible. And the clown is you, for actually showing up. After the lights died down and the excitement evaporated, I was left wondering how much I actually enjoyed Bloody Ties, for all its spectacle....

While her quest is nowhere near as long or as tough as that of some of the bigger players in the overarching story, there are still a few bosses for you to take on and a bit of playing the messenger, as per usual. The main purpose of Elden Ring patch 1.07 was that PvP and PvE balance are now separated, meaning tweaks to one won’t affect the other. However, dataminer Lance MdDonald found that some new menu strings that mention ray tracing were found in the code. Later on, McDonald was able to enable the ray tracing settings, which he shared a look at on his Twitter. He did note that the feature just seems to be broken for the time being, speculating that it could be some missing shaders that are the problem....

Death Stranding: The Official Novelization will be released in English on February 16, 2021, according to publisher Penguin Random House. The novelization will be released in two volumes with 304 pages each. The digital and paperback versions are up for pre-order from various retailers and will run you $9.99 apiece. Hot on the heels of an early implementation of achievements, the Epic Games Store has now brought on yet another much-needed feature - that being mod support. Like achievements, mod support is only available in a single game. In this case, it’s Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries, who received an update overnight to enable mod support for the first time. Though not quite Steam Workshop, the Epic Store now has a mods tab under Mechwarrior 5’s store page....

Previously branded as Sennheiser Gaming, EPOS is trying to muscle in on the upper-middle of the premium microphone market with a new, USB-connected, device specifically billed as a “streaming microphone”. While you can (and probably should) pay heaps more for truly professional equipment if you’re trying to be a voice actor or a real big-time streamer on YouTube or Twitch, the B20 is aimed more at the serious enthusiast looking to invest in a more luxuriously snazzy-looking setup....

As of this announcement, the European Commission has 90 days to come to a final decision on the acquisition. Until then, the deal will remain on hold. Elsewhere, both the UK and US regulatory bodies have yet to make a decision, although the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority has expressed concerns. In regards to the specific issues the European Commision has, it comes down to the potential for Microsoft to halt access to Blizzard games on competitor platforms....
