We’ve heard a lot about what this evening’s big nuke event is going to do to the Warzone map, and we’ve heard a fair amount about what Season 3 will bring to the main multiplayer side of Black Ops Cold War, but we’ve not heard an awful lot about Zombies – until now. In a tweet last night, Treyarch confirmed that players eager to try the DLC weapons that have been added to the game since launch will be able to unlock them in Zombies when Season 3 launches....

Pathway and its Adventurers Wanted update is now free on the Epic Games Store until June 25. First launched in 2019, the game has been updated with new AI and game balancing, new tactics and abilities, a new loot system, new combat arenas, and even more special narrative events and story. The game is set in the year 1936 where Nazi influence has stretched across Europe and the Middle East....

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla got a big new patch last week, and it added a suite of new features and bug fixes to the game – including oft-requested Transmog support. But it wasn’t all good news: the rollout of the patch has seen errors and crashes spike for players enjoying the game on all platforms, and Ubisoft has now had to take action to make sure damage from the update can be kept in check....

Titled Legacy of the Moonspell, it introduces a new stage, characters, monsters, weapons, and some “hidden mysteries.” In the DLC, the Moonspell clan in the eastern lands is overrun by hordes of yokai and oni. This “hive of spectral activity” may provide a clue as to the location of a vampire. Eight new characters are included with the DLC. These include Miang Moonspell, the last disciple of the Moonspell Clan, Moonspell elder Menya Moonspell, the exiled practitioner of new moon dark magic Syuuto Moonspell, and Babi-Onna, who has returned from the dead to seek vengeance on demons and mortals....

Hi-Fi Rush is a joyous cel-shaded rush of a rhythm combat game with a tone and art style not unlike Jet Set Radio, and it’s surprising, because it comes from a studio most widely known for Evil Within, a spiritual follow-up to Resident Evil, and Ghostwire Tokyo, which is sort of like Far Cry: Shibuya via Siren Blood Curse. It’s not the only example of a surprising or incongruous game from a developer, or studio, that is mostly known for one type of thing....

The streamer in question, MrGolds, was talking himself up as a top player at the time, asking if any of his viewers had ever seen anybody play like him. In fairness, his performance actually would have looked pretty impressive if not for the massive “EngineOwning” aimbot program open in the middle of his screen. NetherRealm has officially unveiled Spawn, the final confirmed DLC character in Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack. As always, we have a meaty new trailer to go along with the news. Spawn’s cape and chains play a significant role in his attacks. The cape lets him glide, which is slower than a normal jump, but allows him to hang in the air for a bit and potentially avoid projectiles. The chains, on the other hand, are very brutal in close and medium range....

The Burial Grounds is also where you take on your first proper named boss enemy, Blood Raven, meaning it’s a quest of firsts that really helps you find your feet in the game. The Callisto Protocol, developed by new studio Striking Distance Games and published by Krafton, got the Digital Foundry treatment this week, and the results are plain to see; the PS5 version of the game far outshines the Xbox Series X/S one. There have been some patches to the game, pre-release, but from what we can see even today (on release day), there are notable differences to performance between the console versions of the game....

As an aspiring teen, I’d navigate through this sea of flagrant copyright infringement and dubious food hygiene standards for the real star attraction: the arcade. If you’ve never had the pleasure, a fairground arcade was typically a compact steel cabin with a claustrophobically low ceiling, approximately one billion cabochon lights, and more coin-ops, fruities and 2p shove machines crammed into its modest volume than absolutely necessary. Riot Games has announced the open beta for League of Legends: Wild Rift on mobile. The open beta will go live on March 29. While currently playable in other parts of the world, this will be the first time it will be made available in North and South America. You can expect to grab the beta off the App Store and Google Play. Riot said players of the game can expect regular events, ARAM mode, two new characters per month, and ranked seasons....

It’s not that we haven’t become accustomed to seeing images posted on official publisher social media accounts detailing delays. When Covid hit and workforces sensibly moved to remote working, we saw tens of them – company logo, clear font, apology, the right thing to do, etc. Games getting delayed is nothing new, and I think people now expect things to move around the release schedule. Yesterday, the Xbox Game Pass Twitter teased that the Disney+ perk for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members would come back in some form, and now a new blog post has officially confirmed it. As per an article over on the Xbox site, any Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users who aren’t already subscribed to Disney+ can grab a free 30-day trial of the service. “When the [Disney+] Perk ended in January, we heard you ask for more, and today we’re excited to share the good news,” said Microsoft in its post....

According to The Verge’s Tom Warren, Microsoft will make Xbox Series X the default, baseline hardware spec for its streaming service Project xCloud. Though the service has only ever been available through limited tests, Xbox One S is currently the console powering those games.
