During today’s Nintendo E3 2021 Direct, the company announced Mario Party Superstars for an October 29 release. This collection of Mario Party boards and minigames features five classic boards from the Nintendo 64 era and a collection of 100 minigames from across the Mario Party series with all modes playable online. Boards such as Space Land are included, and the mini-games Mushroom Mix-Up and Shy Guy Says have returned. All minigames are played with button controls, so you can use either the Joy-Con controller or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, or a Nintendo Switch Lite system....

Crystal Dynamics has released an update for Marvel’s Avengers which fixes a number of playthrough stoppers, and makes some backup save UI improvements. You can also expect load time optimizations, and campaign mission reward outfits will no longer disappear from Cosmetics Inventory UI For Xbox One specifically, the patch makes it so Achievements should now unlock and increment properly. On Thursday, Microsoft announced a big change for PC games sold on the Windows Store. Starting August 1, Microsoft will only be taking a 12% cut from PC game sales on its store, a drop from 30%, leaving 88% for developers. The 88/12 split is one that’s been gaining more and more traction in the industry recently, with many developers now openly calling the 30% cut unjustified. Epic Games, of course, fired the first shot when it made 88/12 the focal point of its decision to launch its own PC store....

After announcing a new company strategy, and the acquisition of and formation of a new studio in Canada, the studio has announced it will release the new-gen update for The Witcher 3 later this year. Fans of the game who play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S can expect these versions to arrive during the second half of this year. The free Golf addition adds 21 holes from the Wii Sports series and can be played locally with others or with up to eight players in Survival Golf online. Here the player who takes the most strokes each round will be eliminated. This update also adds LAN functionality and works with Golf and the six sports. Nintendo has announced it will no longer be servicing the original model of its Wii console in Japan after March 31. This relates to the RVL-001 model of the Wii in all of its colour variations. So, for now the RVL-101 model launched in 2011 and the Wii mini RVL-201 model launched in 2017 are both safe. According to the company, finding the right parts to perform repairs on the now-13-year-old piece of hardware has become difficult....

The Outer Worlds 2 will take place in a new star system with a new crew. Word on the street back in October said it was in early development, and turns out, the rumor was spot on. Because the game is early in development, only a checky trailer regarding the fact it is in the works was provided. The Outer Worlds released to much critical acclaim. But the studio is also busy working on the already revealed Avowed, its next action RPG....

First reported by DSOG, modder Andrey0007 has been chipping away at this fan remaster of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, and has revealed some screenshots of their work. Andrey0007’s overhaul mod for the game is said to replace all the textures with 4K versions. While some of this will be done using AI upscaling techniques, the modder will also be creating some entirely new textures in some instances. This isn’t all, either, as Andrey0007 has even bigger plans for this overhaul mod....
