Star Wars: Squadrons and NBA 2K21 are coming to Xbox Game Pass this month. In fact, 2K’s basketball hit is launching on Microsoft’s subscription service tomorrow (March 4) for both console and the tech giant’s streaming service. EA’s Star Wars: Squadrons, meanwhile, is down as coming to console at some point in March. In a blog post, Microsoft wrote that Madden NFL 21 is already out on Xbox Game Pass via EA Play, while Football Manager 2021 is coming to Game Pass for both Xbox and PC tomorrow....

The five games the service is launching with are Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, and Teeter Up. While this lineup of games leans on name recognition and basic game types, all Netflix subscribers have access to them at no extra cost. At first blush, this would seem like an Apple Arcade-type service with a more convenient subscription tie-in via the regular Netflix sub. But Apple Arcade launched with some real powerhouse games like Grindstone and Card of Darkness....

The End of Yorha Edition arrives on Switch October 6, and includes all previously released content, as well as some Switch-exclusive costumes. Nier Automata’s release on Switch has always been something fans of the series wanted, though Square Enix always appeared to move slowly when it comes to the series. Game director Yoko Taro was previously asked about the possibility of seeing the game on Switch, telling fans to instead ask Square Enix....

On Tuesday, June 15, Nintendo will host its E3 2021 Nintendo Direct livestream. It is set to kick off at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK / 6pm CEST. You can expect it to last around 40 minutes and it will focus exclusively on Switch titles coming this year. It will be followed by the company’s annual Nintendo Treehouse Live: E3 2021. You can expect it to last around three hours....

One of the games announced was It Takes Two, which will finally arrive on Switch on November 4. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse was announced by Koei Tecmo, and not only is it coming to Switch in early 2023 but it will also be released for PC along with PlayStation and Xbox consoles....

The PC version of Death Stranding is currently in the hands of reviewers, and by most accounts, it seems to be a solid PC port. Like many games coming out today, it also supports Nvidia’s DLSS 2.0. In fact, according to Nvidia (via PC Gamer), Death Stranding is capable of running at 4K at 60fps on any RTX 20-series GPU, so long as DLSS 2.0 is enabled. The site found these claims to be true, and actually got over 70fps on an RTX 2060, using DLSS 2....

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade may have been one of the biggest reveals at Sony’s State of Play livestream, but it’s not the only new Final Fantasy 7 game Square Enix announced that day. The Japanese publisher, in fact, revealed two new mobile games in the Final Fantasy 7 universe. The first, Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis is a single-player, story-focused episodic take on the whole Final Fantasy 7 saga, taking into account the original game and all compilations....

Michael Chu also worked as a writer on Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft. According to a post on his personal blog, he plans to continue working in the games industry where he will continue to tell stories and “build worlds that unite people through games,” (thanks, Gamasutra). “When I first walked through the doors of Blizzard Entertainment twenty years ago, my only dream was to help make the games I had spent countless hours of my life playing,” said Chu....

Silent Hills’ P.T., the horror phenomenon that fans still obsess over to this day, may die on the PS4. The game does not have a store page, meaning you won’t be able to download it to your PS5. This isn’t really surprising; P.T. got pulled off the PlayStation Store all the way back in 2015. Those who installed the playable teaser while it was available can continue to play it, but they cannot re-download it....

SEGA has announced its popular free-to-play title from Japan, Phantasy Star Online 2, will arrive on PC in North America next week on May 27. The North American version of the MMO includes fully localized text and character voices in English, spanning three years of content. This version also features the most-up-to-date balancing and quality-of-life improvements. In the game, you can choose from four races and nine classes and join up to 11 others to fight battles and bosses....

In a new report by Deadline, it’s been revealed that MGM has acquired the rights to the book proposal for a new title called ‘The Antisocial Network’ from author Ben Mezrich. This book will follow the events of “a ragtag group of amateur investors, gamers, and internet trolls” who – through investments, coordination, and playing the bankers at their own game, “brought Wall Street to its knees.” Apparently, Mezrich and his representatives started sharing the proposal on the market at the end of last week – when this whole story was still, really, in its infancy – and by Friday night, MGM had made steps to get the rights to the story....

Last month, PlatinumGames delivered the news that the servers for Babylon’s Fall would be shutting down, and as it’s an online-only game, that means it’s going away forever. This wasn’t particularly surprising news considering a few months ago the game literally only had one player online on Steam at one point. As per a new report from Sensor Tower, the iOS and Android game developed by Niantic has recorded a ridiculous amount of revenue during the half-decade since it first launched. Initially hitting handheld devices in 2016, the game has generated – on average – $1 billion per year (though, of course, there are ebbs and flows). That’s what 632 million downloads can do for you! $1.9 billion of the game’s revenue has been generated in the US, according to the report....
