Studio Inkyfox’s Omno is finally coming out at some point this summer. The news was announced as part of today’s ID@Xbox livestream, with the game set for not only Xbox One and Game Pass, but also PC and PlayStation 4 at the same time. There’s also a Nintendo Switch version on the way that’s launching “shortly after”. Omno is an exploration/puzzle title from one-man studio Studio Inkyfox aka Jonas Manke....

Rain was originally introduced into the franchise back in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, where he endeared himself to many of the series’ loyal fans as another addition to the crew of masked ninja that made the franchise so iconic. “As the son of the god Argus, Edenia’s divine Protector, Rain wields a magical power allowing him to harness water and lightning, open dimensional rifts to a previously unknown water realm and even liquefy himself to avoid attacks,” reads a description of the new kombatant....

The Zofia’s Elite set has been released for Rainbow Six Siege and includes Jill’s S.T.A.R.S. Unit uniform, headgear, and victory dance. It also includes a weapon skin for the LMG-E, M762, and RG15, a gadget skin for her KS79 Lifeline, and the R.E. Elite Zofia Chibi charm. The set is available on all platforms and will set you back 1800 R6 credits. Speaking of Resident Evil, in April, Capcom will host another showcase which will likely be similar to January’s Resident Evil Showcase livestream....

Rainbow Six Siege developer Ubisoft is not against one day making the game free-to-play. Game director Leroy Athanassoff told PC Gamer that the team is on board with the idea, but some things would need to be figured out first. “You need certain features ready to be a good and successful free-to-play game,” said Athanassoff, pointing to smurfing as something the team will need to figure out a solution to before going free-to-play....

Following last week’s teaser the developer has released the latest reveal trailer for the game this weekend, introducing the 53rd and 54th operators coming next week: An attacker called Iana and a defender known as Oryx. As shown in the video, Iana uses holographic decoys as bait for opponents and to expose traps without triggering them. Oryx, by comparison, can break through soft barriers without using any tools and can quickly dash....

Players of Rainbow Six Siege may already be familiar with Reverse Friendly Fire, a mechanic added to the game by Ubisoft back in 2019. Those who repeatedly fire at teammates will eventually encounter RFF, and when this happens, any damage inflicted on teammates is reflected back to the player. It seems that RFF isn’t enough to stop some players from griefing their teams, however. As a result, Reverse Friendly Fire will be changing when the next Siege update, Operation Vector Glare, rolls out on June 7....

To commemorate the death of Sea of Thieves’ ill fated PvP mode, players gathered in game to send arenas off in typical Sea of Thieves fashion. This included playing music, walking in a sad conga line, and spamming the weeping emote. Some also started drinking, as is the norm at any good pirate wake. On a video posted to the Sea of Thieves reddit, user ChaoticVic shows a large number of like minded pioneers walking around the arena lobby in a celebration of the late great PvP activity....

The news comes from Player Powers, where a report on the the game was recently published. It’s called Project Sekai and it’s a rhythm game being developed collaboratively by a variety of studios, including Craft Egg, which is known for the popular Bang Dream series. Set in Shibuya, Tokyo, the game sees its protagonist - Hoshino Ichika - encounter virtual musician Hatsune Miku on a television while wandering the streets....

The second Shenmue 3 DLC, Story Quest Pack, will be made available on February 18. In it, Ryo Hazuki crosses paths with a familiar face from the past Zhang Shugin, and quickly becomes embroiled “in a new escapade where nothing is as it seems.” If you purchased the Complete DLC Collection it will be available automatically on the day of release. If you want to pick it up, it will set you back $14....

The Sifu Spring 2022 content contains new features ranging from difficulty settings, and an advanced training mode allowing players to train against any opponent, ncluding bosses. It also includes a new outfit feature for the main character, and quality of life updates and changes for the UI and controls. You can now choose your difficulty setting in Sifu, including the option to make the game more challenging. There are three setting: Student, Disciple and Master....

It sounds like EA, at least partially, is interested in reviving the Skate brand. On the May 4 episode of the The Nine Club podcast, pro skater Jason Dill recounted a recent exchange with EA, where the publisher asked if he’d like to be involved in a Skate game. Only it wasn’t a new full-fat console game, rather a mobile release of Skate 3. This was ten months ago, according to Dill, who revealed on the podcast that he basically told EA off....

The Skyrim mod scene is as vibrant as ever. If you’re a fan of Bethesda’s work, there’s a good chance you also like The Witcher series. Even setting aside game feel, combat in The Witcher games is fundamentally different from the relatively simple mechanics of The Elder Scrolls series. Which, as you may have already guessed, opens the door for mods to fill that gap by attempting to recreate Witcher mechanics within Skyrim....

Super Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai has weighed in on Sony’s brand new PlayStation 5 console. In his regular column in Japanese games mag Famitsu – as reported by Kotaku – the developer overall was impressed by the hardware but did have some criticisms. Sakurai said that the PS5 is a big beast, saying what many people have been saying since the console was unveiled earlier this year. That being said, he said that he was able to fit the machine into his entertainment unit....

Details of the patent were shared over on TheGamePost. At present, it’s simply called an “Information Processing Device,” but the attached abstract seems to imply that this will use similar sub-screen technology to Xbox Snap. Here’s the official description for Sony’s new patent: “Provided is an information processing device which: displays a main screen including main content; displays a sub-screen including sub-content of a different type from the main content at the same time as the main screen; receives a switching operation to switch from a mode for receiving an operation on the main screen to a mode for receiving an operation on the sub-screen; and highlights the sub-screen when switching to the mode for receiving an operation on the sub-screen is performed....
