I still can’t talk about anything beyond that first little chunk of the game, but even after I was done with the preview, I carried on tooling around Zeta Halo, the modestly-sized open world that’s used to string the story missions and optional side content together. The more I played, the more acutely I began to understand the rules of this open world… and I started the campaign over a couple of times to experience those first few missions and early moments as the world unfurls before you again....

Surprisingly enough, you reach higher speeds with one less tire! But it only gets wilder from there. A series of Tweets posted by Kojima Productions last week got the internet guessing about the sort of message hiding within them. The Tweets feature an image of the studio’s head of communications, Aki Saito, sitting at his desk. Saito is shown using a Pyramid-branded pencil, which, when combined with the word “silent” in the Tweet, makes a decent case for the announcement being Silent Hill-related. Look closer, and you can even see “next week” written on the Saito’s notepad....

Following a firmware update last week, Lego Super Mario started calling out for Luigi when it was woken from a nap. Some thought this was a cute bit, whilst others suspected it was hinting at another Lego product in the immidiate future… and it appears they were right. As per BrickFanatics, the set includes Luigi himself, as well as a pink Yoshi, Bone Goomba and Boom Boom, and they’ll all come as part of the 280-piece set....

Marvel’s Avengers is the second Square Enix-published game to be delayed today. Developer Crystal Dynamics announced that the superhero action game is now due out September 4 worldwide, a nearly four-months delay. “When we set out to bring you our vision for Marvel’s Avengers, we committed to delivering an original story-driven campaign, engaging co-op, and compelling content for years to come,” the developer wrote in a blog post. “To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve....

In a post from the game’s official Twitter account, the firm said that it will be showing off its upcoming Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect, alongside what the upgraded version of its superhero romp looks like running on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. This War Table broadcast is set to go live on February 16. This DLC is focused on the original Hawkeye – aka Clint Barton aka the dude with the bow and arrows hanging out with literal super soldiers and gods – with a set of new missions....

Productionetilego is a YouTuber who has been building video trailers using real Lego sets for almost nine years. Yesterday, Productionetilego - whose real name is Etienne - published an Assassin’s Creed Revelations trailer designed completely out of physical Lego bricks to his YouTube channel, which you can check out below. Interestingly, Revelations was the first Lego game trailer Etienne ever published, having released his original attempt at recreating the game’s E3 trailer in July 2011....

Publisher Deep Silver and developer 4A Games have confirmed that Metro Exodus will be landing on next-gen soon, with the new version of the game arriving on new consoles with a faster frame rate, increased resolution, reduced loading times, and ray-tracing. There’s no date attached to the new version of the game yet, just an indication that it is indeed on the way. If you already own the game, you will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version entirely for free....

The online retailer - which is, in fact, the original source of that years-old rumour after the trilogy and its intended platform were revealed on its website back in 2018 - has updated the game’s page with a release date. Metroid Prime Trilogy will reportedly release for Switch on June 19. But obviously take that with a grain of salt. We’ve reached out to Nintendo for confirmation. Microsoft is rumored to be hosting a May event, where it will reveal new games and a possible first look at the less expensive, disc-less Xbox Series X dubbed Lockhart. Today’s rumor comes courtesy of Windows Central, which states Xbox Series X Lockhart is ready for Xbox employees to test at home, similar to how company employees started testing Project xCloud on PC back in March. During this time, it’s said staff will be providing feedback on the console, which indicates to Windows Central it won’t be long before the rumored console is revealed to the public....

The new update adds four new airports which consist of California’s Catalina Island (KAVX), Valdez (PAVD) in Alaska, Lake Tahoe (KTVL) located in the Sierra Nevadas, and Block Island (KBID) on Rhode Island’s East coast. There are also 87 new points of interest. These include the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials in Washington DC, the gorgeous Glacier National Park in Montana, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on Hatteras Island in North Carolina....

In what the publisher is calling the “first major expansion” for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the STIHL National Championship Air Races are coming to the game this fall. “Finally, we are excited to announce our partnership with RARA (the Reno Air Racing Association) to bring the famous STIHL National Championship Air Races, the world’s fastest motorsport, to Microsoft Flight Simulator,” Microsoft says in a press release. “Many of the planes can fly up to 500 mph at an altitude between 50 ft and 250 ft above ground....

Software and games giant Microsoft is probing if its users want to have some of the features in Sony’s DualSense PS5 controller in its new Xbox Series X and Series S gamepads. As reported by TechRadar, the company is asking people who recently bought its Xbox Series X or Series S consoles for their thoughts, including whether the hardware “feels next-gen.” Furthermore, Microsoft has asked users whether the PS5’s DualSense had any features that they might want to be included in the new Xbox controller....
